Study Visa for
UK
(The Tier 4
scheme )
|
|
UK
has recently introduced Tier 4 visa Program for Students who
want to study in a college or a university of UK.
TIER-4'S
PURPOSE:
TO
ENCOURAGE THE GENUINE STUDENTS INTENDING
TO STUDY IN UK.
WARNING:
ALL DEGREES,
DIPLOMAS, CERTIFICATES (HSC/SSC), & BANK
STATEMENTS ARE BEING VERIFIED
THOROUGHLY BY BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION
ISLAMABAD WITH THE HELP OF HIGHER
EDUCATION COMMISSION.
|
Main Requirement
-
There
are 40 points in total
to qualify for the Applicant
for UK visa, out of which
30 points are allocated
for Education Provider
in UK and 10 points are
allocated for local sponsor
outside UK (abroad). These
points are calculated based
upon the Rating of UK
Education Provider,
fulfillments of Visa letter
requirement by UK Education
Provider as prescribed by UKBA
and fulfillments of financial
requirement by the visa
Applicant abroad.
-
All
applicants under Tier 4
(General) Student and Tier 4
(Child) Student need a
sponsor. The sponsor is an
education provider offering
the applicant a place on a
course of study in the United
Kingdom. An education provider
will need to have registered
with the UK Border Agency as a
licensed sponsor. They will
need to meet the requirements
for the particular category
within Tier 4 and accept
certain responsibilities to
help with immigration control.
-
The new
Highly Trusted Sponsor
category has been introduced
from 6 Octoberl 2012. Highly
trusted sponsors have to
demonstrate the highest levels
of compliance with their
sponsor duties and in return
are able to offer a wider
range of course levels and
work placement opportunities.
Sponsors will either either be
marked as having Highly
Trusted Sponsor status or they
will be rated as either A
(Trusted) or B (Sponsor). The
B (sponsor) rating is a
transitional rating and means
that the sponsor is working
with the UKBorder Agency to
improve their systems.

What
is a Confirmation of
Acceptance for Studies (CAS)?
A CAS is
an electronic document that is
created by a UK Border Agency
licensed sponsor to
demonstrate that they have
accepted an applicant to join
one of their courses in the
UK. Under Tier 4 an applicant
must have a CAS before making
an application. The CAS must
demonstrate that the applicant
has an official, unconditional
offer from the sponsor for the
course of study he / she wants
to undertake. The applicant
must note the unique fourteen
digit reference number for
their CAS on the appropriate
field on their application
form.
The CAS
must be issued no longer than
6 months before the date of
application, otherwise it will
expire. Having a valid CAS
will not guarantee entry
clearance as the applicant
will still need to demonstrate
that they meet all the
Immigration Rules for the
category.
You may
obtain several CAS from
different licensed sponsors,
but you should only apply for
a visa with the one from your
chosen institution. The others
will automatically be made
obsolete once your application
is made.
-
Documents from your sponsor
such as:
-
Computerized bank
statement on the name of
Applicant or joint with the
sponsor showing held funds
for at least 28 days
from the day the account was
open and
showing minimum UK Pound
Sterling 12,000 - 15,000+
or equivalent amount in Pak
Rupees in balance as
required to stay & study in
UK to cover at least nine
months of accommodation
(GBP 7,200 within
London or GBP 5,400
outside London or other
cities) plus initially
one year of study.
-
The
computerized printout of
bank statement showing held
funds should be less than a
month old from date of
computerized printout
requested to the local bank
to the time of submission to
FedEx along with other
documents.
-

-
Although
no immediate requirements for
English Proficiency has been
outlined by UKBA for Tier-4
Point-Based System, as it
might would have been left on
Education Providers'
discretion, requirement for
IELTS (min 5.5/9.0 bandwidth)
/ TOEFL (min 215/300 CBT) with
for most of the colleges /
universities in UK although
(some Education Providers may
not require it), still its
advisable to have IELTS/TOEFL
because it shows the sincerity
& genuineness of student
gearing to go for higher
studies in UK and therefore
increases the chances to
qualify for UK student visa to
25%. Note that students
bearing O & A levels
qualification may not require
to take IELTS / TOEFL but it's
good to take it.
